March 2025

We all got some time off work and school for spring break, but Lei Kaiāulu kept us busy in March. It ended with a great day for ʻAmas and ʻAʻaliʻis who came together for a huakaʻi to Awawalei and Kūhiawaho. Mahalo to Kumu Jesse for sharing your ʻike and ʻāina with our haumāna.

The Pua ʻAmas had their first community engagement event. Our group worked with 808Urban to kōkua at the Kalo Fest at Key Project. It was a great event for our haumāna to develop skills for engaging community and they had so much fun.

We got to rest a bit at the beginning of spring break but ended the week with service learning at The Pantry in Kalihi. Kumu and haumāna had so much fun bagging potatoes, filling shopping carts, and loading food boxes for the community. Bonus, we also got to work and talk story with very experienced kūpuna volunteers who keep things super organized and running smoothly. Mahalo nui to the staff at The Pantry for having us!
